It's Springtime! And you know what that means. Join
us on May 30, 31, and June 1 for our fifth sometimes semi-annual sometimes annual TUMC
Family Camp. This time will be returning to beautiful Lake Skinner,
just a few miles outside of Temecula proper on Rancho California Road. That's
right, we'll be camping again at the site of the nearly world famous Temecula
Wine and Balloon Festival, minus, of course, all the people, and
balloons, and wine and other stuff that goes into making that event far more
popular than our events. Nonetheless, we're still planning on having
a great time, so be sure to join us!
We had such a great time last time that we're going to do
it again. The fact is, your stalwart cruise director finally got his act
in gear and made the reservations! So - the party's on.
Woo-hoo! We've reserved several sites in section B - all close
to the restrooms and with full hookups, so RV'ers and tenters alike will
have all the necessary accommodations.
The continuously sought-after McCullough chuck wagon will
be back, with all the tasty vittles we've come to expect. And, as on our previous
excursions, breakfast Saturday morning and dinner
Saturday night are included in the price of admission ($75.00
for two people, plus $5 per extra eater per meal). We can all rest easy
in the knowledge that we'll be well fed and well cared for under the watchful
culinary eye of the McCulloughs.
But wait. There's more. Act now,
and you'll be able to extend your stay and enjoy
post-dinner activities including a Saturday evening worship service and
a round-the-campfire sing under the divine leadership of Pastor Randy
Johnson. Once again, we'll be able to sleep-in on Sunday morning
secure in the knowledge that our spiritual needs for the week have
already been met? (Y'know, it still seems I might be missing something
here...)
And anyone who wants to eat Saturday afternoon might want to bring something
for a potluck lunch. The chili cook-off seemed like
a pretty good idea last year, but I think it just wound up as a chance for
Mark to show off his cooking skills one more time. Let's make
it easy on 'em this time. And remember, we'll all be on our
own for dinner Friday night and breakfast Sunday morning, so don't
forget to pack the ice chest.
We have reserved enough spaces to accomodate 40-50 campers,
and there's plenty more spaces we can use if we need them, so invite your
friends and neighbors to join us! The more, the merrier! For
more information on Lake Skinner, including directions on how to get there, click
here.
As always, you don't need to have an expensive RV or a big
fancy tent to join us, this campground is really close to home
so it'll be easy for you to drive out on Saturday morning to join us for
a whole day of relaxation and fellowship, then return home to sleep in
the comfort of your own bed. It's a large park with acres of
open space and activity areas, so everyone is
encouraged to visit whether or not you will be spending the night. NOTE:
Day visitors will be responsible for park day-use fees, are asked to register
for any meals in which you wish to share.
If
you are interested in attending, please take a few
moments to fill out our on-line registration form so we can
prepare for your visit. Be sure to sign up now to guarantee
that you'll have a spot!

Oh, all right! If you've read this far, you probably know by now that this is the same text that was up here before, just with different dates. So sue me! It's hard to come with all that original content every time we have a campout. Just come and join us anyway!
