Join us July 31 through August 2, 2009, for the Sixth Mostly Annual Temecula UMC Family Camp at beautiful Dos Picos County Park in Ramona. Just a little over 50 miles away, nestled in an oak shaded valley at the foot of granite covered hills, Dos Picos County park is the ideal place for a weekend camping getaway. Be sure to set aside this weekend so you can be a part of the fun as we experience 3 days and 2 nights of fellowship and worship under a canopy of oaks, sun, and stars.

We have plenty of fun planned, including genuine "Mountain Man" cooking and craft demonstrations prepared by the Edmunds Clan, fresh from their command performance at the Rendezvous in Poway living history event. The Parks Department also offers Junior Ranger programs for the kids all day on Saturday, and there is a small lake on the property from the shore of which you can enjoy fishing or bird watching. There is a great, large playground for the youngsters, and a sprawling open field upon which youngsters of all ages may run and frolic.

We have reserved almost a complete loop in the campground - 8 sites each accommodating up to 8 people, and in the adjoining loop are horse-shoe pits where we can stage our own tournament. Each campsite has 30 amp electrical and water connections, and the campground has a dump station on site. Facilities include restrooms with hot showers, hiking and excercise trails, and a large picnic area with many tables. Watch the video on the left (shot before our first campout at Dos Picos 4 years ago) to get a great idea of the kind of wonderful place Dos Picso Campground really is.

And remember, you don't need to have an expensive RV or a big fancy tent to join us, the campground is just a couple miles outside the city of Ramona, which has several fine accommodations for the camping impaired. And, it's close enough for you to drive out on Saturday morning to join us for a whole day of fun activities, then return home to sleep in the comfort of your own bed. It's a large park with acres of open space and activity areas, so everyone is encouraged to visit whether or not you will be spending the night.

If you are interested in attending, please take a few moments to fill out our on-line registration form so we can prepare for your visit. At this time, there are additional sites available for reservations, so if we have a large turn-out we should be able to accomodate everyone who wants to come. But be sure to sign up now to guarantee that you'll have a spot!

NOTE: The Edmunds have requested that anyone who can bring a Dutch Oven to aid in the Mountain Man cooking extravaganza, so please let us know in advance if you will be able to bring one!
